Hi there! My name is Victoria and I’m the owner of Just Train NJ. This business is a labor of love and a showcase of my passion for dogs. I’ve dedicated my life to studying animals and they have always been an obsession of mine. I was the socially awkward young kid who would carry veterinary textbooks and dog encyclopedias to class in lieu of socializing at recess and lunch.
I leapt headfirst into the equine world young, eager to learn more about riding and training horses. Working in barns in exchange for saddle time blossomed into a college degree in Equine Studies and Business Management. To help fund my horse habit, I also pursued a 15 year long career in digital marketing, beginning in NYC agencies and progressing to freelance work. While I was progressing in the marketing world, I taught horseback riding lessons part time for extra income and experience doing what I enjoyed most. In addition to loving working with animals, I also have a lot of fun teaching and coaching people.
As office work began to wear on me, the possibility of growing a dog training business became the light at the end of the tunnel. What began as a part time pursuit quickly grew into the business you see today. Working full time with dogs is a dream come true. When I’m not focusing on managing and growing Just Train, I enjoy a variety of activities with my personal pack of dogs. I compete at the National level in a German sport called Schutzhund/IGP and also dabble in confirmation showing and agility. In the very little free time we have left over, I partner with a local dog rescue and help foster behavioral dogs that need a little extra help before being adopted.
I am an eternal student of the dog and am always seeking out new opportunities to learn more. I regularly work with World level sport coaches and seek out pet and behavioral training seminars and workshops. My goal is to continue bettering myself and my business to be able to pass that knowledge and expertise to my clients.
Our philosophy in caring for our beloved four legged friends is more than just a bowl of food, a place to sleep, and an affectionate pat on the head. Whether your dog is with us for a comprehensive board and train program or a long weekend while the kids are away at a softball game, we truly enjoy getting to know them inside and out.
All of the dogs in our care enjoy one-on-one attention in various forms – a comfy lounge on a premium dog bed in the house, a warm sunbath out on the deck, or a full tilt run on seven acres of gorgeous countryside. Could be all of the above!
We believe that proper dog care and training is holistic. We want to become a part of your dog’s professional team, akin to their vet, groomer, dog walker, etc. We are always there as a support system to help guide you on proper nutrition, fitness and exercise, husbandry, basic first aid, and of course, training.
